Red Sox Fans
I am sick and tired of Red Sox fans rubbing shit (sorry for the language) into Yankee fans faces just because they are 8-0 against the Bombers. It is sad because back when the Red Sox were horrible, the Yankees didn't really rub into their faces because they didn't need to(I'm talking people I know, I don't
know about the rest of the world). Now, all of a sudden, the Red Sox get good and the Yankees get moderately worse, and hell breaks lose. Red Sox fans can't wait to rub it into Yankee fans faces, "oh we won in 2004 and 2007, and swept you guys all year."
I just feel that Red Sox fans need to stop being so ignorant (not that Yankee fans aren't ignorant), but it's fairly annoying to go to Massachusetts every summer and just be surrounded by, "your favorite team sucks!" and "what you know about 8 and 0." I just am getting to the point to snapping.
Here are some of my favorite "Yankees are better" lines:

Here are some of my favorite "Yankees are better" lines:
- Talk to me when you win 26, but of course at the Red Sox pace, I'll be dead by then
- Talk to me when you don't have enough fingers for your rings anymore.
- Talk to me when you don't have enough closet space for all the tropheys.
- You're the ones who traded Babe Ruth, so don't blame us for the 86 years.
- Babe, Bucky, and Boone....hahahahhahahah! (thats all I have to say lol)
Eric Hinske

Okay, I'm about to get a little judgmental right now.
In his second at bat as a Yankee, Eric Hinske hit a solo home-run. He also made an amazing catch to end a threat in the first inning for Andy Pettitte. Yes, he was traded and knew that he wouldn't be playing everyday, but he hasn't played since then, which was Monday.
If Joe Girardi wants to continue to be the manager for the Bronx Bombers then he should really start playing the players that are consistant in hitting. Yes, Eric Hinske only played one game, but Nick Swisher is alright but is not hitting consistanly every game. It seems as if Girardi is playing everyone but Hinske. Yes, he has only been with the Yanks for a week now, but I believe he should give him a chance.
Delayed!
Sorry for the delayment since my last blog, I had a lot of school work and never got around to adding onto this blog, but enough about me, let's talk about them yanks.
The New York Yankees are currently 49-34 and are 1 game behind the Boston Red Sox for first place. They have recently acquired IF/OF Eric Hinske from the Pittsburgh Pirates, in exchange for two low-level minor leaguers.

Andy Pettitte Signs
It finally happened. Andy Pettitte signed a one-year, 5.5 million dollar contract with the Yanks. Although disagreeing about how much Pettitte should have gotten, since he received 16 million last year from the Bronx Bombers, he is in Pinstripes once again. Apparently Brian Cashman would not go over 10 million for Andy's contract, but I'm just happy to see Pettite return on the right team.

Opinion: What About Bobby Abreu?

Bobby Abreu has not been talked a lot during the off-season. I personally believe he did a tremendous job with the Yankees the past 2 and a 1/2 seasons. I do not get why the Yankees would not want to sign him again, or any other team for that matter. He is a great 3-spot hitter, he doesn't swing at bad pitches, and he hits all over the field. Abreu is pretty quick for a bigger guy, and his fielding is phenominal. So yes, I would like the Yankees to reconsider him being their right-fielder. I like Xavier Nady, but I would rather have Bobby Abreu out there anyday.

Nady and Melky Avoid Arbitration
First of all....I have absolutely no idea what arbitration is.
I tried to look it up on Wikipedia, but it did not give me a straight answer.
Anyway...
Although Xavier Nady has been talked of recently about rumors with Nick Swisher about trades, he has signed a one-year 6.65 million dollar deal with the Yanks.
Melky Cabrera, who didn't have the best year with the Bronx Bombers in 2008, signed a one-year, 1.4 million dollar contract with New York.
One more Yankee is up for arbitration, and that guy is Brian Bruney, who spent most of the 2008 on the DL.

Yankees Off-Season So Far
The
New York Yankees have spent a lot of money this off-season, but they spent their money on quality players.
C.C. Sabathia was their target since the end of the season. He of course, wanted to play in the National League preferably on the West Coast; both of which categories the Bombers are not a part of. In the end (on December 18th precisely), Sabathia signed with the Yankees to a seven-year, 161 million dollar contract which is the largest
contract for a pitcher in MLB history.
A.J. Burnett was "next on the list" of Yankee signings. He too, (on December 18th), signed a five-year, 82.5 million dollar contract with the Yanks.
Ma
rk Teixeira is last on the list of signings (for now). No one thought that Mark Teixeira was going to sign with the Bronx Bombers, for there was nothing in the media saying that the Yanks were even making a pull for Tex. But the Yankees swooped in and picked up Teixeira for an eight-year 180 million dollar contract that was signed on January 6th, 2009.
Now what is to come for the Yankees?
I guess we'll just have to wait and find out.
